Fees for routine flight physicals are as follows:
3rd class
$55 2nd class
$70 1st class
$70 Transmitted EKGs
$30
Fees are higher for applicants with health problems that require additional time.
Before scheduling a flight physical, please consider the following:
Anyone concerned about not passing the flight physical because of a known health problem should contact an examiner before scheduling an appointment. Obtaining required tests or consultations in advance of the flight physical can save
considerable time.
The blood pressure limits for certification are 150mm over 95mm. If these values are exceeded at the time of the flight physical you cannot be certified. If you have elevated blood pressure, you should see your family doctor for treatment then contact us for further information.
If you routinely or frequently take a medication, we need to know the brand/generic name and exact amount.
The FAA will not approve the use of any medicine which may effect mental clarity.
Do not wear contact lenses on the day of your exam as they prevent accurate testing within the allotted time.
We need to know the name, address and dates of all physician visits within the past 3 years.
You need not bring your pilot logs to the exam as proof of flying time. Estimates are acceptable.
Applicants in perfect health may not be certified if there is a history of documented DUIs or substance abuse. The FAA computers access national databases containing anything of public record and such facts cannot be hidden. If you have a problem in this area, please email us for further comments as certification is possible in most cases.
